Fall Day Trips

As the leaves begin to change from green to various shades of red, orange, and yellow, the Northwoods offers breathtaking scenery to all its visitors. While guests can enjoy plenty of fall colors around the resort, there are a few nearby locations we recommend exploring. Whether you enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, biking, or just picnicking, there's something for everyone! Most are located just a short drive away, and even the drive is guaranteed to highlight the fall colors.

Copper Falls State Park

If you enjoy nature walks and hiking, Copper Falls is the perfect spot for your next adventure! This park features ancient lava flows, deep gorges, log buildings from the 1930s, and stunning waterfalls nestled in the forest. Copper Falls is a great spot to find fall colors! Wisconsin Concrete Park

The Wisconsin Concrete Park is located in Phillips, Wisconsin, and is considered one of Wisconsin's Seven Man-Made Wonders. It was constructed by retired lumberjack, Fred Smith, in 1948. The park consists of over 200 figurines made out of concreate with embellishments that depict historical events and people. The park is open year-round during the daylight hours. Timm's Hill Park

At 1,951 feet above sea level, Timm's Hill is the highest point in Wisconsin. The park features an Observation Tower that provides a 30 mile view of the beautiful Northwoods. The park is open year-round and has hiking and biking trails that can be used for snow shoeing, cross country skiing, and snowmobiling. Marinette County Waterfalls Tour

Known as the Waterfalls Capital of Wisconsin, Marinette County is home to several beautiful waterfalls at various locations. Beef-A-Rama

September 27-28, 2013

The 49th Beef-A-Rama in Minocqua, Wisconsin is an autumn festival filled with food and fun! Join area merchants and businesses for delicious roasts and snacks. There is also a variety of entertainment including live music, chainsaw carving, beef eating contests, arts and crafts, and a parade of beef. Stop by for the day or just a few hours! Cranberry Fest

October 5-6, 2013

Eagle River's Cranberry Fest has something for everyone! The festival features a wide variety of activities including arts & crafts vendors, food sales, a bakery, entertainment, and even fitness events. Be sure to stop by the food tent where you can find cranberry brats, chicken sandwiches, soups, and more. There are also cranberry bakery items available for purchase as well as the famous World's Largest Cranberry Cheesecake!
